India Has An Androgynous Model, And Their First Photo Shoot Is Perfection

In a culturally-diverse country like India, the definition of beauty, unfortunately, is still very, very limited. Which is why, a concept like androgyny is pushed to the extreme corners of the society, simply because people aren’t able to understand it. Chennai-based photographer Ganesh Toasty is one of the many talented artistes of our country, who’re challenging these definitions with their work. Case in point, his latest photo shoot with androgynous model, Lemuel Huffman.

The photo shoot is called Sui Generis, which is Latin for ‘of its own kind.’ This is Ganesh’s way of spreading awareness about androgyny, and the LGBT+ community. Explaining his concept, the photographer said, “For this shoot, I planned to shoot with an androgynous model because the knowledge people have about androgyny is very less and the way they look at them isn’t right. As a fashion photographer and a visual artist, I feel that I have the responsibility to admire every aspect of beauty.”

The pictures are fierce and fabulous, and Lemuel is nailing every pose.
