At Least 22 Dead And Several Injured After Bus Turns Upside Down In J&K’s Reasi

At least 22 people were killed and 30 others injured today when a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled into a deep gorge in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. 

The bus turned turtle and fell into a deep gorge resulting in the death of at least 15 passengers, Tahir Sajad Bhat, SSP of Reasi, had earlier told PTI. 

But later reports confirmed the death toll to be 22. 

According to Bhat, the bus was carrying 45 passengers, and was on its way to Buckle from Reasi before falling into the gorge.

 “The people who were seriously injured are being airlifted to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment,” he said. 

Police said some of the injured persons are in a critical conditions. 

“The rescue operation is going on and a police team and the district administration is on the spot,” he said.
