Google Asked People To Film A Day In ‘Evolving India’ And The Result Is Amazing

“I am a citizen of a very great and wise country and I am proud of it”, says one of the subjects in a clip, as a stadium erupts in the next one. In another clip, a mother is trying to wake up her young son who is sleeping with his headphones on, while another clip shows a very animated traffic cop. And then there is the one where the subject is explaining how he and his friends all use the Wi-Fi of his neighbour. 

Truly, this video captures the essence of India – the rugged, the colourful, chaotic, fun-loving, food-loving, the gradually modernising and the stunningly beautiful India. 

On October 10, Google India asked people to film 24 hours from their lives and the results are wondrous. India In A Day, produced by Ridley Scott and Anurag Kashyap and directed by Richie Mehta and filmed by you captures the power of the country. 

The preview below was screened during Sundar Pichai’s keynote at Google For India. The feature-length film will be released this year.  Check out the video here:
