Thousands of devotees flocked to the main ghats of the city, Balua ghat and Gau ghat, located at the Yamuna river, to worship the Sun god.

The Chhat pooja goes on for two days and the worshippers leave behind a trail of trash like flowers, incense sticks, earthen diyas and polythene bags on the ghats.

After the festival was over, a group of volunteers under the banner of Avam Seva Samiti visited these places and cleaned up all the litter from ghats as well as Sangam areas.

Cleanliness is above any religion or community and these noble people have proved just that!
