Way before the British invaded and came up with a bunch of badly pronounced names for some of our cities and states – which we eventually changed once they left – most of the country was split into provinces all across history. And, with different rulers and dynasties, came different names for their kingdoms. Now, that Gurgaon has gone back to its older days, being christened back to its original name, Gurugram, here’s what these following Indian cities would be renamed to if they followed suit. Imagine walking across Bihar today and referring to it as Magadh! 

Here are what 15 Indian cities and states would be named if they followed the Gurugram lead.
