This Young Man’s Poignant Poem Captures The Pain Of Every Indian Muslim Who’s Called A Pakistani

Shabdita Pareek

Religion has been dividing our society for hundreds of years. Though we call India a secular state, there’ve been countless instances when religion was the root cause of conflict.

Back in 1947 when India was partitioned, a sizeable number of Muslims chose to stay back in their home country India. 70 years later, they still seem to face difficulty in being fully accepted as an integral part of this nation.

This thought-provoking slam poetry by Syed Zafeer voices the pain of an Indian Muslim whose patriotism is always questioned.

Soul-stirring.
