Delhi Student Asks Mark Zuckerberg For An ‘On My Period’ Button & We’re All Waiting For An Answer

Anwesha Madhukalya

A lot of people take to Facebook to post about things they feel really strongly about and to spread awareness. And why not, since Facebook is a medium that keeps everyone connected. Arushi Dua too, like everyone else took to Facebook, to say something but with a slight twist.

Dua is a 20-year-old law student from Delhi who has been working towards the eradication of menstrual taboos for a few months now.

Dua wrote a letter to Mark Zuckerberg urging him to add an ‘On My Period’ button, in an attempt to remove the stigma around menstruation and make people see it not as abnormal or impure.

You can read her letter here:

Sir,Please. A sincere request.

Dua told BuzzFeed “I tried initiating discourse around the subject on campus and amongst friends, but nothing concrete came out of it. This is exactly why I requested the feature on Facebook.”

Are you listening, Mr. Zuckerberg?
