Life is a strange thing. No matter how we try to control it, it’s bound to go haywire at some point. It could be something as small as missing a train or something as large as a war. And mankind with its penchant for violence has shown us throughout history that the valley of human life is a small cost to pay for personal, greedy motives. The lives lost to such senseless violence are countless. But some who went through the most excruciating perils lived to tell the tale.
