When you grow up in India, it’s easy to tell when Diwali is just around the corner. The air is charged with excitement and the smell of warm, buttery, sugary delicacies that melt in your mouth. Your house is swarmed with cousins, uncles, and aunts, and for once, losing a game doesn’t end with the board being flipped over. Be it scaring the daylights out of your mother by attempting a daring stunt with the crackers or getting your cousins back for that prank, little things are what make our Diwali, well, Diwali.
