There probably are as many superstitions in our country as there are languages. Diverse as we are, we seem to have a superstition for everything. For good luck, for a good life, for a good life partner… there is something for everything. 

As if tying lemons and chillies to something or touching wood can ward off evil spirits!

By that logic, nothing bad would ever befall anyone who makes it a point to feel up his furniture every time something good happens.

Superstitions are stupid! There is no logic to them whatsoever. And while having faith is a good thing, blind faith is something else altogether. 

I mean, how is a black cat crossing your path ever going to affect your life. Unless you go and trip on the damn cat. And to get this point across, we’ve listed 13 Indian superstitions and what they actually imply:
