Police Suspect That The Death Of A 14-Year-Old Bengal Boy Is Linked To Blue Whale Challenge

A 14-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide at his house in Keshpur in Bengal’s West Midnapore district  on Saturday to meet the conditions of the self-destructive blue whale challenge, reported HuffPost   

According to victim’s father, they found him lying on the floor of their washroom. His head was covered with a plastic bag wrapped tightly around his neck with a cotton cord.

“Initial evidence suggests that the suicide is linked to the Blue Whale Challenge. We are investigating the matter,” a senior police officer told News18.

The boy was last seen playing the online challenge using his father’s desktop.The computer has been sent for forensic examination to find out the links to which the 14-year-old allegedly got fond of the game.

This is the second case of a suicide linked to the Blue Whale challenge in the country.
