An 18-year-old girl allegedly committed self immolation after her father refused to give her school fees in Udaipur district of Rajasthan.
Shilpa Kumar, a class 12th student, was upset with her father who had refused to give school fees. In a fit of rage, she poured kerosene and set herself ablaze yesterday, Investigating officer Shahzad Ali said.
“She was rushed to a primary health center in Rishabhdev from where she was referred to MB hospital in Udaipur where she died late last night,” he said.
The body has been shifted to the mortuary and will be handed over to family members after postmortem today.
