Two Soldiers Injured After Militants Attack Army Search Group In Kashmir

 Two soldiers were injured on Thursday in a militant attack on a search party of security forces in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, police said.

Acting on specific intelligence input about the presence of militants in Shahgund village of Hajin area of the district, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation, a police official said here. 

As the forces were conducting the search operation, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering an encounter. Two soldiers — Naik Madan Singh and Sepoy H Krishna — were injured in the firing by militants, who managed to escape from the spot, the official said. He said the injured jawans were evacuated to Army’s 92 Base Hospital here for treatment.
