More than a week after a rickshaw driver in Delhi was beaten to death by a group of youths for his objection to their urinating in public, a 21-year-old caretaker of a public toilet was stabbed to death by three youngsters in Delhi’s Nangloi area on Tuesday.

The reason? He stopped the three youngsters from taking drugs inside the toilet, a report in India Today says.

Rahul, a resident of Mundka, owned a toilet complex in Punjabi Market. His mother Shyamalata also worked as a caretaker of a public toilet in the same area.

As per Shyamalata’s statement, she saw three youngsters taking drugs inside the toilet and asked them to leave. They left the spot but not before threatening her with dire consequences.

A few minutes later, the men returned to avenge the insult and attacked Shyamlata. When Rahul tried to save his mother, the trio stabbed him multiple times and also thrashed his mother when she tried to intervene, police said.

Locals rushed to the spot hearing the commotion, but by then, the attackers had already fled. Rahul was immediately rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead, they added.

According to the India Today report police have arrested two of the accused and charged them with murder. Police has also recovered the knife used by the accused to stab Rahul.
