A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Delhi’s Anand Parbat area on Wednesday morning.
According to News 18, 22-year-old Vijay, a daily wage labourer whisked away the child when she was playing and hid her in his house on Wednesday morning. When the girl’s parents could not find her, they started a search.
Her father, a rickshaw puller and mother who works as a domestic help were friends with Vijay. While looking for her in each house, they were surprised to see Vijay forcing himself on the girl, who was bleeding profusely.
The parents immediately pounced on Vijay and overpowered him. A neighbour informed the nearest police station while the parents rushed the girl to Lady Harding hospital.
The girl underwent a surgery to stop her bleeding and was discharged later.
Police have arrested Vijay and have booked him under relevant sections of Protection of Children against Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act.
