Post-independent India’s ‘tryst with GST’ came on Friday midnight after the government launched the Goods and Services Tax.
GST, the historic tax reform, came into being after going through innumerable debates, discussions and disagreements for the past 17 years. While Opposition led by Congress boycotted the event, BJP leaders from both Centre and the states have been showering praises about it.
