‘Good To Be Back’: Abhinandan Varthaman Returns Home Amidst Welcome Cheers From All Corners

IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman returned to India late last night. The pilot was handed over to Indian officials at the Wagah border at 9.20 pm. According to the Indian Express, he was escorted by Pakistani Rangers till the Zero Line, following which the IAF team received him.

One of the officials quoted Varthaman saying:

It is good to be back in my country.

The Indian Air Force also said that it was happy to have him back.

And Twitter was especially elated with his release and welcomed the hero home. 

It is heartening to see him back home and safe at last.
