In a Facebook post that went viral, Monika Khangembam from Imphal spoke of how she was harassed by an immigration officer while leaving the country and asked to name all the states of the nation.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday night tweeted at her saying she was sorry to hear of the conduct of the immigration officer and promised action.

In her post, Khangembam spoke of how the officer taunted her asking if she was truly Indian. Swaraj was tagged by multiple people on Twitter, but the minister clarified that she was not in charge of immigration.

Khangembam has not yet responded to the tweets.
