MBBS Student Found Hanging In AIIMS Girls’ Hostel. Was Ragging The Reason?

A first year MBBS student, Khusboo Chaudhary, of the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was found hanging in her hostel room in the early hours of Sunday, August 30.

According to a DNA report , the incident was first reported by other students of the girls’ hostel at around 2:15 am. The AIIMS security and the hostel superintendent immediately rushed to the spot and informed the police.

However, Public Relation Officer (PRO) of AIIMS, D R Amit Gupta has ruled out that ragging was a possible cause for the alleged suicide of a first year MBBS student. Stating that the prestigious institute has zero-tolerance policy towards ragging, he said, the preliminary inquiry has ruled out any ragging for the alleged suicide of Khusboo Chaudhary.

“The police is now investigating the case and have seized the mobile phone of the student for investigation. However, no suicide note has been recovered from the room of the deceased. She was from Bikaner and her name is Khusboo Chaudhary and had joined the institute on July 10, 2015,” Gupta added.
