Unidentified hackers on Thursday posted the Indian national anthem and Independence Day greetings on a Pakistani government website.

The hackers targeted Pakistan government’s official website: www.pakistan.gov.pk at around 2.45 pm on Thursday.

As per Twitter users, the website opened with a hacker message which celebrated India’s Independence day with the national anthem playing in the background.

However, the website was soon restored. Meanwhile, there was no official response from the Foreign Office in Islamabad and the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.

The incident comes almost four months after a pro-Pakistan group hacked the official websites of four prominent Indian institutes.
