Army Jawan Arrested At Srinagar Airport Trying To Take 2 Grenades On Flight

An army jawan from Darjeeling was arrested after two grenades were recovered from his possessions by the anti-hijacking squad at Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar airport on Monday. 

The jawan, identified as Bhupal Mukhia, was to board a flight to Delhi when the explosives were found in his luggage during a routine X-Ray screening, reports Hindustan Times

Mukhia has been detained for questioning at a local police station. 

Mukhia has reportedly claimed that he was carrying grenades to cause blasts in rivers and catch fish. 

Reacting to the news, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister, said:
