This Is How Assam CM Tarun Gogoi Disrespected Former President Abdul Kalam

Even at the best of times, our politicians are hardly the most sensitive lot. So this latest incident should barely come as a surprise. At a time when the entire nation is in mourning as a mark of respect to the former President APJ Abdul Kalam, Assam Chief Minister was caught dancing with girls at a tea estate in Kaziranga.

During the function, which was held on Wednesday, the Chief Minister danced with two girls of the tea tribe community at Hatikhuli tea estate.

The Chief Minister later apologised for the incident, but not before the opposition criticised him for breaking protocol when a seven-day period of national mourning had been declared.

As if dancing with the girls wasn’t enough, the Chief Minister also opened a golf course by teeing off for a few rounds.
