So now do you believe it? You do not need Khans, Kapoors, Roshans, or Rajnikanth to sell a film. What you really need is a good plot, a good idea, logical sequence and qualified actors who may or may not be the famous star. Maybe that ‘this is what Indian public prefers’ is a justifiably silly excuse to make nonsensical bollywood films.
SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali has reportedly become the most expensive production in the history of Indian cinema. The film has been crushing box office records from its dawn in the theatres.
In case you haven’t seen it yet, the Tamil/Telugu bilingual film, reportedly grossed Rs 163 crore globally in three days and on its fifth day it has reached Rs 200 crore. The sound of the victorious win of the film has reached US.
Baahubali has also defeated the works of two Khans Happy New Year ( Rs 108 crore) and Dhoom 3 ( Rs 107 crore). While Shah Rukh Khan’s film had released during the festival of Diwali, Aamir Khan’s work had released near Christmas in 2014. Baahubali just released in the middle of the year, on a very ordinary day. Therefore, it will not be completely wrong to say that, the time of release of the film is not as important as much as it is hyped about in the film industry.
Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia have defeated the southern star Rajnikanth, they are reportedly now the fastest Rs 200-crore Indian film grosser.

This was just the first part of the film. Baahubali is a two-part action fantasy and the budget for both is approximately Rs 250 crore, making it the most expensive cinematic undertaking in Indian cinema. One can be glad that at the end of the day, the money is being put to good use and two and half hours of your time will not be a waste — a non hindi national film with a very successful international opening.
