After her exit from NDTV, she is likely to start her own venture and build her “own multimedia content”.

In 2015, she had stepped down as NDTV’s Group Editor but continued working as a Consulting Editor with the channel.

Dutt posted a farewell message on her official accounts on social media.

A Padma Shri awardee, Dutt rose to fame for her coverage during the 1999 Kargil war, and became the face of the channel.

In a career spanning over two decades, her name was dragged in many controversies including the infamous Nira Radia tapes, where she was accused of negotiating with politicians. She also faced criticism for her coverage during the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
