Bengaluru-Based Byju’s To Soon Replace Oppo As Indian Cricket Team’s Official Sponsor

The Indian cricket team will soon be seen wearing a new brand name on their blue jerseys.

According to News18, the Chinese mobile manufacturer Oppo has handed over the sponsorship rights to Byju’s, a Bengaluru-based educational technology and online tutorial firm.

The Indian team will be wearing the Byju jersey from their upcoming home season, starting with the games against South Africa from September 15.

According to the report, a ‘tripartite agreement’ between Oppo, Byju’s and the BCCI and will be signed on Thursday.

Oppo had won the Indian team jersey rights for a five-year period in March 2017 after outbidding Vivo mobiles’ Rs 768 crore bid.

Oppo was paying BCCI Rs 4.61 crore per bilateral match and Rs 1.56 crore for a match during an ICC event.
