Bengaluru Cops Are Posing As Passengers & Catching Auto Drivers For Charging Higher Fares

In Bengaluru, the Traffic Police came up with a unique approach to apprehend autorickshaw drivers for traveling without valid documents and/or charging higher fares. They posed as passengers and caught the drivers red-handed, literally.

According to reports, over 5,200 drivers were caught in the act. The offenses included, but were not limited to, refusal to comply with metered rates, refusal to drive to certain locations, and charging higher fares.

A few drivers were also fined for not wearing the appropriate uniform or traveling without valid documents. Reportedly, the police collected ₹8,06,200 in fines.
