In a horrific case, a 48-year-old woman and her newlywed 19-year-old daughter reportedly had their heads shaved, were beaten and paraded in a village in Vaishali, Bihar, as ‘punishment’ for resisting rape.

As per reports, a group of men, including local ward councillor Mohammad Khurshid, barged into the woman’s house with the intention of raping her daughter.

When the mother intervened, the group allegedly beat both of them and held a panchayat, where Khurshid ordered a barber to shave their heads.
