Karnataka BJP Chief Yeddyurappa Says IAF Air Strike Will Help BJP Win 22 Seats In The State

In response to the deadly Pulwama attack, India had launched pre-emptive air strikes across the LoC, against militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Consequently, tension and skirmishes across the India-Pakistan border have increased. In such a tense situation, BJP’s Karnataka unit chief BS Yeddyurappa has landed into a controversy for stating that the IAF strikes will help BJP win seats in the coming election.

As per reports by NDTV, the former chief minister commented that the party is in favor of winning 22 of 28 seats in the state in the national election due by May. 

The wind is increasingly blowing in favour of the BJP. Yesterday’s (Tuesday’s) action of destroying terror hideouts by entering inside Pakistan has resulted in a pro-Modi wave in the country, the results of which can be seen in coming Lok Sabha polls. It has enthused youths; all this will help us in winning more than 22 Lok Sabha seats (in Karnataka).

His comments have been criticized by the opposition party for politicizing the sacrifices of armed forces. 

In such trying circumstances, it’s essential to remember that our soldiers’ sacrifice always has to take precedence over political propoganda.
