In a gruesome incident, the mutilated body of a man was found dumped in southeast Delhi’s Sangam Vihar area on Friday morning, police said. The body had been cut into two parts. Ears and nose had been cut off from the body while the legs too were chopped off, said a senior police officer. The official said that the neck had also been slit.

“The body parts had been cut in order to hide the identity of the man. The man must have been aged between 35-40 years. He was murdered somewhere else and his body was dumped in I-Block, Sangam Vihar,” he said.

According to a Times of India report, the victim’s legs were severed in order to bundle his body.

While police has registered a case and started investigating the mater, they have also come across a CCTV footage showed two men arriving in an autorickshaw and dumping the body around 4.30 AM. However, the registration number of the vehicle or faces of the men in the rickshaw are not clearly visible.

The victim is said to have been wearing a white shirt and a lungi. Police said they had not received any missing complaint in the area and the man’s identity was yet to be ascertained, the TOI report added.
