Ten Dead After Ranchi-Bound BSF Aircraft Carrying 10 People Crashes In Dwarka

Ten dead bodies have been recorded so far after a Ranchi-bound BSF Superking aircraft carrying 10 to 12 personnel crashed in South-West Delhi’s Dwarka area on Tuesday morning, forcing Delhi airport authorities to suspend all air operations.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be shortly visiting the crash site.

TV reports showed plumes of smoke rising from the crash site as the fire and emergency services are engaged in dousing the fire and retrieving bodies from the wreckage.

Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma told ANI that the 10-seater plane crashed during take off and the ministry has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

BSF sources disclosed that the aircraft had sought permission for an emergency landing before it contact with the ground control around 10 AM.

India Today reported the aircraft hit the boundary wall of the airport and a nearby railway station.
