A Mumbai Chaiwallah Is Claiming That The Congress Party Owes Him Rs 2 Lakh. Here’s Why

Seems like the Congress Party and a chaiwallah just can’t get along. No, we are not talking about PM Narendra Modi but Congress’s favourite tea seller in Mumbai who has claimed that the party owes him an outstanding bill of Rs 2 lakh.

Now he has stopped sending tea to the Congress office, reported Times Of India.

Inder Joshi informed that he runs a small tea stall behind the headquarters of Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) at Azad Maidan. Apparently, his tea is a favourite among party activists and leaders who have been relishing the daily brew since a long time on credit.

They [the Congress] have not paid us since a long time and we have now stopped providing them tea on udhari,” he told TOI.

Meanwhile, MRCC president Sanjay Nirupam accepted that the party was yet to pay the tea vendor and blamed the carelessness of one of his officers for the dues. Another Congress leader blamed cash crunch for the delay.
