Check Out These Very Rare Photos Of Snow Leopards Clicked in Sikkim

Catching sight of a snow leopard is said to be a once in a lifetime event. You can travel for miles and not see one of these elusive creatures that often blend in with their surroundings making them nearly impossible to spot in the wild. (Here’s photographic proof of just how difficult it is)

So when the World Wide Fund for Nature received information about the presence of snow leopards in the high altitudes of North Sikkim from local yak herders, they quickly decided to set up cameras to catch a glimpse of them. It was the first time the animal’s presence had ever been reported in the region.

The NGO set up camera traps in the North Sikkim plateau with the help of local residents, armed forces and Forest Department of Sikkim and they got remarkable photos of the animal.
