Board examinations are the most crucial test in the students’ life and when irregularities hamper the way in which these examinations are conducted, it has adverse effects on their future. So after the Class 12 Chemistry paper was leaked for a second time in ten days, students and parents are out in protest against the government.
Last week, authorities had ordered a re-examination for the chemistry paper after they found that the paper was leaked before the exam was conducted. The re-examination was scheduled for two weeks later, but was again cancelled due to yet another leak, The Indian express reported.

- The governemnt set the date for re-examination as March 31.
- The preliminary inquiry in the first leak revealed that the paper was leaked near an examination centre at a women’s college in Ballari and a state college in Kolar district, The Indian Express reported.
- Just as students were about reappear for the chemistry paper, it was revealed that the paper had been leaked again. Yet again, the exam was postponed.
- But now, students and parents have come out in protest. They are even demanding the education minister’s resignation.
- The state BJP president and MP Prahlad Joshi called for the dismissal of primary and secondary education minister Kimmane Ratnakar immediately and asked CM Siddaramaiah to make a statement, IBN Live reported.
- 1.4 lakh students are affected since they have to appear for entrance tests for higher studies even as their regular exams are still not ever, causing increased pressure.
- Several MLAs of the ruling Congress party have also joined the protests, while the last day of the budget session in the state assembly was disrupted by the opposition
- The parent of a student also climbed atop the education department building to express his anguish over the trauma being caused by the repeated disruptions.
- Protesting students have said that they will not appear for the re-examination which is yet to be scheduled, and hit out at the education department for its inability to conduct leak-proof examinations, IBN Live reported.
