A commuter might have ended up dead on the tracks of a Mumbai railway station if it weren’t for the alert actions of a railway police constable who pulled him to safety.

RPF constable Chandrakant Rupde from Mumbai, was the first to react as a man risked being falling into the gap between the platform and a moving train. And his quick action, definitely saved the man, reported Mid-day .

The commuter was trying to board the moving CST-Nagercoil Express at Karjat station near Mumbai, when he slipped. But while he managed to grab the bars alongside the coach door, he was unable to pull himself in. It seemed like he would fall under the wheels of the train and risked serious injury or even death .

While others on the platform shouted and screamed in horror, Rupde rushed to the man and managed to pull him clear of the train. Two other constables also came to his aid.

They not only managed to stop the train, they got the passenger on board and even had a doctor waiting to see him at the next railway station.
