Congress MP Manish Tewari Makes A ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Reference In Parliament, Faces Backlash

Sumedha Tripathi

Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent proclamation at the parliament to revoke Article 370 has gained quite a lot of attention and divided opinion in India. But a certain Congress Minister might have added a completely different element to it.

According to reports, Congress MP Manish Tewari received backlash after he referred to the erotic novel Fifty Shades Of Grey while addressing the Parliament about the Kashmir issue.

After Amit Shah asked Congress to clarify their stand on Article 370, Tewari responded,

There is an English book. Everything is not black and white. There are fifty shades of gray in between. Maybe the Home Minister was thinking something else. He didn’t pay attention to what I said.

Twitter was sent into a tizzy after his statement.
