Sometimes animals have to remind humans of their responsibility as parent and caretaker.
Recently, in Chile a toddler in Chile was kept alive by a pregnant dog after being allegedly abandoned by the mother. The toddler was breastfed by by the dog as he was left with no food or water to survive in a mechanic’s warehouse.

The two-year-old was abandoned by his drunken mother in the desert port of Arica and was seen feeding hungrily from the neighbour’s dog.
According to reports, the boy’s condition was bad. The local authorities were asked for help the malnourished child was taken to a hospital in Santiago.
Suffering from skin infection and lice infestation, the officials said that the boy was found in a very poor health condition and only the dog’s milk saved his life.
