Ira Shukla

After around 40 hours of fighting for her life, the Unnao rape victim passed away due to cardiac arrest, last night.

She was brought to the Safdarjung Hospital with 90 per cent of her body burnt after the accused set her on fire on Thursday.

As the nation mourns the loss of another life, her last words are something we will never be able to erase from our minds.

Despite being in such a serious condition, she kept telling the doctors not to let the accused go free. This was communicated with people by Dr Sunil Gupta, who is the Medical Superintendent at Safdarjung Hospital.

She was conscious when she was brought here last night at 8 PM. Even though was speaking very feebly, she told us not to let the accused go free. She asked the doctors if she will make it out alive.

The 23-year-old girl was shifted to Delhi after she sustained serious burns, following an attack by the accused, who were out on a bail.

She was on her way to the court when the incident happened.

Sadly, she couldn’t make it out alive but we hope that justice is served well and soon.
