Eiffel Tower Re-Opens After Paris Attacks. Glows In French Colours To Honor Victims

The Eiffel Tower was lit with the blue, white and red colors of the French flag in Paris on Monday to pay tribute to the victims of a series of deadly attacks on Friday in the French capital.

The tallest structure in Paris and a symbol of France reopened on Monday. From nightfall until midnight on Tuesday, it will be lit up in blue, white and red with a projection of Paris’s city motto “Fluctuat Nec Mergitur,” which means tossed by the waves but does not sink, Reuters reported.

In doing so, it is reflecting the solidarity shown to Paris, where 129 people were murdered at clubs, bars, the Stade de France and the Bataclan music venue, according to an Express report .

As news of the horrific terrorist strikes attack in Paris spread across the world, monuments across the globe were lit up in the colours of red, white and blue in a show of solidarity with France.
