Police Seize Rs 32 Lakh In New Currency Notes In Jaipur

Eight persons were arrested with Rs 31.79 lakh unaccounted cash in new currency notes from a hotel in Jaipur. 

The seized amount includes Rs 24 lakh in Rs 2,000 denomination notes the rest of the sum are in the denominations of Rs 500, Rs 100 and Rs 10 notes. All accused had come from New Delhi and rented a room in a city-based hotel. 

The police received information that the eight persons had a dispute over the money and were having heated arguments in their hotel room, after which a police team reached the spot, SHO of Sindhi Camp police station, Manphool Singh said. 

The team found the huge amount and when asked, the accused failed to furnish any documents about owning the cash in their possession, he said. After which the cash was seized and the accused were arrested under relevant CrPC sections, the officer said.
