The king of the wild may look majestic in the jungle but spotting one in an area inhabited by human beings can be wondrous. And terrifying!

However, such occurrences have become common in areas close to the Gir forest in Gujarat.

On Saturday, commuters were thrilled to witness eleven lions trying to cross the street on the Pipavav-Rajula highway in Amreli district of Gujarat.

Here’s the video captured on phone:

As a result, traffic came to a standstill after commuters on both side of the highway halted their vehicles for the creatures to pass. Soon after, the herd of lions led by one gently crossed the highway divider to the other side of the street.

Onlookers, who quickly got off their vehicles captured this rare moment on their phones. The video has now gone viral on social media.
