Father Of Two Rapes Neighbour’s 18-Month-Old Daughter In Front Of His Own Children

The nation on Friday woke up to another chilling case of rape in the national capital.

This time, an 18-month-old girl was brutally raped by her neighbour on Wednesday in broad day light in outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar. 33-year old Rakesh, who works in a printing press raped the toddler in front of his own children, a four year old boy and a two year old girl, reported Hindustan Times.  

The child had gone to her neighbour’s house to play when the incident occurred. According to PTI, Rakesh’s wife was on terrace when he carried out the horrific act.

Rakesh, however was arrested on Thursday after the girl’s mother found her bleeding from her private parts and rushed her to the hospital where it was confirmed that the child was sexually assaulted. 

The child later underwent an emergency surgery for 1.5 hours for the injuries she sustained after the assault. 

“We zeroed in on Rakesh after making enquiries in the locality. We also learnt he was missing from his house,” deputy commissioner of police, outer Delhi, MN Tiwari was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times

Rakesh has now been charged with rape under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. 

On Thursday, Swati Maliwal , Chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women demanded a high level meet on the case from Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Twitter.
