Mercedes Runs Over Four Women, One Child Sleeping On A Pavement In Mumbai, Driver Arrested

Yet another hit-and-run case took place in Mumbai on Thursday midnight when a speeding Mercedes convertible ran over five people sleeping on a pavement. The incident happened near Mohammed Ali road.

The injured includes four women and a child.

They were rushed to the nearby JJ Hospital, where doctors examined the nature of their injuries, NDTV reported. Meanwhile the driver, identified as Amin Khan, who had fled the spot, was arrested on Friday morning. A report said Khan is a municipal contractor and businessman.

A police official told The Times Of India,  “We are still investigating whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol or something else caused the accident.”

Although no casualties were reported, two of the injured being treated at the hospital are said to be serious.
