Backing the online campaign for the protection of Net Neutrality in the country, online retail giant Flipkart has pulled out of the Airtel Zero platform which it had recently partnered with, Hindustan Times reports.
Airtel Zero , which is a bone of contention within the ongoing debate on Net Neutrality in India, allows customers to access only those apps and websites that pay Airtel free of cost.
In an official statement on Tuesday, Flipkart announced its decision to walk away from the ongoing discussion with Airtel for their platform Airtel Zero. Flipkart has also promised to commit itself to the larger cause of Net Neutrality in India.
On Monday, more than 1.5 lakh emails from internet users across the country had flooded Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) inbox showering support for the internet to be treated as equal by all telecom operators.
