Abandoned at a young age, kids living in India’s 9000 child care institutions now stand a chance to serve the country.
The center and defence forces have decided to train these kids to work with the forces and ensure safety of the countrymen.
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights is in talks with the Sashastra Seema Bal for adoption of asylums falling in areas under its watch.
In an interview with Mail Today, Rupa Kapoor, member of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights said, “The commission is heading in this direction so that when these children come out, they have a chance to lead a dignified life. This is the first time when an armed force has decided to come on board for facilitating children without any guardian”.
The training will reportedly start with children falling in the age group of 15-18 and include ones from border states like Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Jharkhand.
It has been noticed that children living in child care institutes often don’t find good rehabilitation and turn into criminal activities.
The Sashastra Seema Bal has taken the responsibility of training such kids and motivating them do good in life.
