It is a matter of great concern when girls aren’t safe even in their homes. In this terrifying incident which came to light from Hisar, a 6-year-old girl was abducted from her home at night when she was sleeping with her mother and sister.
Later, the child’s body was found lying in a pool of blood just a few meters away from her house. Reports reveal that the minor girl was brutally raped and put to death as the attackers inserted a wooden stick into her private parts.
The postmortem reports confirmed rape and torture as the reason for her death. It also confirmed that a part of the 24-cm long stick that was inserted into her body had caused much damage to the uterus and intestines.
As of now the body of the minor girl has been cremated after the family received assurance from the police. The villagers have been protesting to seek justice for the girl child.
This horrifying incident is a stark reminder of the Nirbhaya case just a few days ahead of its 5th anniversary. We really need to introspect where do we stand five years down the line.
