The Boy-Girl Divide: Children In Mumbai’s Slum Get A Lesson In Gender Equality

As India struggles with increasing abuse against women and gender inequality, International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) in collaboration with the Indian government, has introduced a 2-year programme in state run schools of Maharashtra and Jharkhand.

“But I have learnt this and now I will teach my children about equality and that’s how things will change,” says 15-year-old student Shaikh Mohsin.

The future is looking brighter, already.
