‘I Don’t Know, Was Given Bed Tea Very Late’: Moon Moon Sen On Clashes In Asansol

Violence erupted in West Bengal’s Asansol during the 4th phase of the national elections as workers of BJP and Trinamool Congress allegedly had a clash and police had to lathi charge the crowd.

When asked about her reaction on the same by NDTV, Trinamool Congress candidate Moon Moon Sen said she didn’t know about it because she ‘woke up very late’.

In an interview given to NDTV, Moon Moon said:

(I) hadn’t heard anything. They gave me my bed tea very late so I woke up very late. What can I say? I really don’t know.

The district saw violence erupting between workers of BJP and Trinamool Congress, with BJP candidate Babul Supriyo – whose car was vandalised in the incident – alleging that Trinamool volunteers were not letting people vote.  

When informed about Babul’s statement and asked for a reaction, Moon Moon said:

Don’t say his name please. I won’t talk then.

Speaking about the violence, Moon Moon further said, “You were too young to see when the Communists were in power. It is all over India, not just Bengal”.
