The union government has put a ban on the sale and production of e-cigarettes on Wednesday, September 18.
The production, manufacturing, import/export, transport, sale, distribution, storage and even advertisements related to e-cigarettes are now banned.
The move, which appeared unannounced took netizens by surprise.
Twitter was lit with discussions and was keen to know why only e-cigarettes were banned and not other harmful products infused with tobacco.
Only time will tell whether the ban will have any further consequences or will it stay limited to e-cigarettes only.
