Govt Introduces New Rs 500 Note In Delhi, Mumbai & Bhopal Amid Intense Financial Crunch

The government, on Sunday, introduced the new Rs 500 notes in Delhi, Mumbai and Bhopal amid intense financial crunch following the recent currency ban.

According to CNN News, some State Bank of India  ATMs (all of which have been recalibrated) will also dispense the new Rs 500 note.

Here is the first look of the notes:

The move comes after PM Modi appealed to people in the country to cooperate with the government and put up with the hardships for 50 days as the ban is for the betterment of the country, and in turn its people in a rather emotional address.

Circulation of the new note is expected to bring much relief to common man as even today banks continued to be overcrowded with long queues outside every branch and ATM across the country.
