Snapdeal Bears Brunt Of Aamir Khan’s Comments, Many Give App 1 Star Rating

An unlikely victim of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s comments on intolerance seems to be e-commerce site Snapdeal.

The online marketplace has come under attack on Twitter for Khan’s comments on intolerance at an award function on Monday night.

Speaking about intolerance in the country, Khan said, “When I chat with Kiran at home, she says ‘Should we move out of India?’ That’s a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make. She fears for her child. She fears about what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day. That does indicate that there is this sense of growing disquiet, there is growing despondency apart from alarm. You feel why this is happening, you feel low. That sense does exist in me.”

But angry Twitterati reacted by demanding that Snapdeal remove him as its brand ambassador.

However, despite all the angry tweets directed at it, the e-commerce site chose to stay silent and weather the storm. Till this article was written they hadn’t offered any official response.
